135 people face drug charges after 4-day drug campaign

Police in Louisiana recently completed a four-day drug arrest campaign that involved the arrests of 135 individuals. During the campaign, authorities targeted five different parishes and seized over $400,000 worth of drugs. The operation was led by the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force from May 14 through May 17. The arrested individuals will now be forced to defend themselves against their drug charges if they wish to reduce their chances of punishment and conviction.

Louisiana man charged with over 500 sex crimes, plea deal reached

A Louisiana man who once resided in Pineville was charged with over 500 counts of sex crimes in 2013. As part of a plea agreement, he entered a guilty plea to 12 of those specific sex crimes. As a result of his guilty plea and the terms of his plea bargain, he will now spend a significant amount of time in jail. He was officially sentenced to nine 35 year terms and three 20 year terms in prison and could be eligible to be paroled at age 72.

Agents arresting individuals on synthetic drug charges natoinwide

The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has been conducting raids and crackdowns across the country in an effort to identify and arrest synthetic drug makers. They are also looking for the retailers and wholesalers of synthetic drug products, including synthetic marijuana. Those in Louisiana found in possession of synthetic marijuana or those engaged in selling the substance could face serious drug charges in federal court.

Louisiana narcotics bust results in 4 arrests on drug charges

Four individuals have been arrested in a Louisiana drug bust. According to the sheriff's department that carried out the arrests, approximately 29 grams of what they believe is methamphetamine were discovered during a search and seizure operation carried out at a residence. The owner of the residence, a 45-year-old man, was arrested on meth-related drug charges.
