Roadside stop leads to serious drug charges

Louisiana police have arrested a man and charged him with several crimes in connection with a roadside stop. While driving near I-49, deputies with the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office noticed a tractor trailer and a pickup truck parked illegally on the side of the Interstate on-ramp. While speaking to the drivers of those vehicles, the deputies felt that the men were acting as though they were nervous. They determined that the driver of the pickup was on probation, and called in probation agents to search the man's vehicle, which ultimately led to serious drug charges.

Man charged with a crime in abortion clinic vandalism

According to Louisiana officials, an act of vandalism recently took place at Causeway Medical Clinic, a facility that provides abortion services to area residents. An unspecified quantity of metal lettering was removed from the exterior of the facility. When police went through surveillance footage at the site, they observed a man loading the lettering into a truck before leaving the scene. The man police believe is responsible for the incident has been charged with a crime and now faces a serious criminal case.

Man charged with a crime over AIDS exposure

A criminal case was recently initiated that could challenge the wording of a Louisiana law. The case centers on a man who stands accused of breaking into an area home and then biting a resident of that property. The alleged attacker told police that he has the AIDS virus, which led to an additional charge of "intentional exposure to AIDS." However, a challenge could be mounted based on the argument that it is impossible to be charged with a crime when that crime is not scientifically plausible.

Three charged with a crime in vandalism arrests

Louisiana authorities have made several arrests in connection with an alleged act of vandalism. The incident took place in Ouachita Parish on a logging site of over 600 acres. An extensive volume of damage was reported to police, which led to an offer of $3,000 for any information leading to an arrest in the case. That offer brought in tips that led police to three individuals, who were recently charged with a crime in connection to the incident.
