4 charged with a crime in fast food assault

An unusual case has garnered a great deal of media attention in Louisiana. An altercation at a McDonald’s drive-thru window turned violent and led to the arrest of four young women who are now charged with a crime in the matter. While the investigation into the incident is ongoing, the entire incident may have been the result of a youthful prank that went too far.

Police were called to the McDonald’s restaurant in LaPlace, Louisiana, on a report of assault. Upon early investigation, it appears that four young women drove through the ordering line and approached the pick-up window. At that point, one of the young women grabbed the 16-year-old girl who was working at the window and pulled her out by her hair.

The worker was punched multiple times, but it is unclear if all of the young women in the vehicle struck her. What is known is that one of the car’s occupants captured the incident on video, which helped police locate the suspects. The ages of the young women range from 16 to 20.

The McDonald’s worker was treated for various cuts and bruises. The teenager who pulled her through the pick-up window has been charged with second degree battery, while the other three occupants of the car are charged with disturbing the peace. As the Louisiana case moves forward, additional charges could follow. For all of these young women who have been charged with a crime, a conviction could be a serious negative mark on their permanent record and should be avoided if at all possible.
