UPS driver is facing DUI and drug charges

A UPS driver was recently arrested in Louisiana and charged with a DUI. It was reported that she had been seen swerving on the road and that the authorities were notified. After she was pulled over she reportedly agreed to field sobriety tests but did not pass them. The driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, and she also faces drug charges. The incident happened in West Carroll Parish.

The drug charges resulted from a subsequent search of the driver's belongings. Seven hydrocodone pills were allegedly found and she was charged with possession. According to UPS, the driver had previously been fired but the union brought her back.

Facing criminal charges can make for a very stressful situation. Persons facing such charges may be scared and confused. Anyone accused of a crime is entitled to a defense and is presumed innocent before the court. A person so charged is entitled to a trial by jury of one's peers and can only found guilty if guilt is proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

A person in Louisiana who is facing drug charges may benefit from a confidential conversation with a knowledgeable criminal law attorney. An experienced lawyer can bring a calming presence to an emotional and stressful situation. In examining the facts of the case as well as the applicable laws, a lawyer can assist a client in understanding the charges that have been brought and what legal options are available, and will work to achieve the most advantageous outcome possible.
