2 men detained for synthetic marijuana possession

Louisiana law enforcement officials reported that they detained two men after finding 34 pounds of synthetic marijuana while searching a Baton Rouge smoke shop on Sept. 10. Detective from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reportedly carried out the search with a warrant at the Hewwood Avenue establishment. According to officials, it was the second search warrant executed at that establishment in 2014.

3 arrested in drug raid

Three people in Louisiana were arrested after law enforcement executed their search warrant on Aug. 22. A 36-year-old woman and 37-year-old man were arrested at the residence listed on the warrant. Later on, a 28-year-old male resident was apprehended nearby and was arrested as well. The execution of the search warrant came after a month-long investigation spurred by locals calling with concerns about drug activity in the area. Authorities searched an additional residence based on information collected while conducting the investigation.

135 people face drug charges after 4-day drug campaign

Police in Louisiana recently completed a four-day drug arrest campaign that involved the arrests of 135 individuals. During the campaign, authorities targeted five different parishes and seized over $400,000 worth of drugs. The operation was led by the Lafayette Metro Narcotics Task Force from May 14 through May 17. The arrested individuals will now be forced to defend themselves against their drug charges if they wish to reduce their chances of punishment and conviction.

Louisiana narcotics bust results in 4 arrests on drug charges

Four individuals have been arrested in a Louisiana drug bust. According to the sheriff's department that carried out the arrests, approximately 29 grams of what they believe is methamphetamine were discovered during a search and seizure operation carried out at a residence. The owner of the residence, a 45-year-old man, was arrested on meth-related drug charges.
